About
J.L. Whitehead

Ever since I was a little boy, I could remember wanting to express myself by writing.  Initially, it started off as a means of dealing with what I thought at the time were social shortcomings.  It was easier for me to create characters that were appealing to me and surround them with scenarios where things just made sense.

By the time I got to high school, I discovered that I had a flair for the gift of writing.  The experience was both gratifying and fulfilling; but for all of the wonderful feelings that I felt, I didn't believe that I could actually make a living or a difference with the gift that God had given me.

Now forward wind many years later and I realize that not only do I have a gift, it is with this gift that I can contribute something to the world.  This gift, however, doesn't excuse the mistakes that I have made in life.  Instead, this gift has made me a better man.

I write to entertain and enlighten...most times in that order.  I am fighting to help our Democratic Party.  I am on the side of equality and fairness.  I believe in a woman's right to choose.  What I don't believe in is tax cuts for the one percent.  It doesn't make sense for someone making next to nothing and the wealthy not pay their fair share.

Am I a saint?  No.  Am I a man on a mission!  Absolutely!
